  1. FREE Webinar- Adapting Greenhouses to Meet ADA Guidelines

    Objective of Presentation: The American Disabilities Act (ADA) was updated in September 2010. The OSU Ag Safety staff have used this information to help greenhouse employers abide by these guidelines. It is important that newly constructed greenhouses, if public places of accommodation, are not only accessible and abide by the laws of the ADA, but also provide a comfortable atmosphere for the users of the space.

  2. TRACTOR CERTIFICATION COURSES, A COMMUNITY-BASED APPROACH

    Many people around the state have been asking for information on this tractor training course. A webinar will be hosted on Thursday December 6th at 3 PM. The audience of this program includes: 1. Volunteers interested in teaching tractor & machinery certification in their area, 2. Farm employers who hire teens on their operations 3. Farm families and farm teens wanting to complete the course, and 4. Secondary Ag Science teachers and Extension personnel who need to know their obligations for signing the Certificates of Training.

Fetzer, MS, Extension Associate at Penn State University will discuss how to use the eXtension.org system (www.extension.org) to find, disseminate and contribute Agricultural Safety and Health (ASH) information.

  4. 50th Farm Science Review

    Come visit the OSU Ag Safety and Health displays at the 50th Farm Sciece Review. This year will highlight the launch of the GRAIN C.A.R.T. (Community Ag. Rescue Trailer) and the Ohio AgrAbility program. The GRAIN C.A.R.T  and demonstrations will be located in the OSU Central Area just off Kottman and Friday Aves. The Ohio AgrAbility tent is located at Land Ave in the OSU Central Area. The tent will display information about the program and its partners, in addition to a moblie scooter recharging station.

  5. Farm Days at COSI

    Aug 15, 2012 through Aug 19, 2012 (All day)

    On August 15th-19th, COSI will present the 8th annual Farm Days event which is expected to draw an estimated 15,000 people. Farm Days aims to increase visitors’ knowledge of agriculture through fun,hands-on activities and the chance to see (and sit in) real tractors, combines, and other farm equipment.
